Medtronic will take more jobs

Medtronic Inc on Monday announced it will take 1,400 more jobs over the next five years at a new customer support facility in San Antonio, Texas, as it expands its growing diabetes customers.

Medtronic is a device maker which expects to begin recruiting immediately to staff the new  facility, which is slated to open in late summer.

The diabetes division, which makes insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors, will hire customer service, training and education personnel at the Texas site, said Medtronic spokesman Steve Sabicer.

The division’s Northridge, California, facility will remain its home base as usual.
