Sunbath reduces heart diseases and diabetes risk in old age

Scientists claimed the regular sunbath can reduce the risk of heart diseases and diabetes especially in old age. Researchers from Warwick University found pensioners who went outdoors regularly had higher levels of vitamin D.

Study author Dr Oscar Franco said: ‘As we get older our skin is less efficient at forming vitamin D and our diet may also become less varied, with a lower natural vitamin D content. Skin produces less vitamin D as we grow older.

‘When we are older we may need to spend more time outdoors to stimulate the same levels of vitamin D we had when we were younger.’
